The Chillow Pillow Helps Fight Hot Heads!

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

I was sitting around watching the Dr. Oz Show recently, and he had a segment on about night sweats.  Of course he was talking about women and their bouts of sweating during hot flashes.  It is a battle my wife was fighting through not long ago.  But it is also an affliction I have suffered with for years — night sweats, not hot flashes.

During the show he spoke of, and showed, a Chillow Pillow.  The Chillow Pillow works on a simple premise.  Liquid absorbs hot and cold fairly well, and tossing and turning will move the liquid in the Chillow Pillow.  This motion moves the hot liquid from under your head, allowing it to cool in the night air, and replaces it with some of the cooler liquid.

There are no plugs or wires.  There is no noise.  The Chillow Pillow is just a liquid-filled waterproof insert that comes in a cloth cover.  It can be placed in the refrigerator to “jump start” a night of comfort.  But for the most part, it is just a simple version of a radiator — it takes heat from your head and distributes it to the room.

The Chillow Pillow has a pretty good rating on Amazon.  65% of users rate the Chillow Pillow a 4- or 5-star product.  Just to give you an idea of how happy people are with the Chillow Pillow, here are comments from the first few user comments I reviewed:

  • I am addicted to this device.  This is the second Chillow I’m ordering.
  • I ADORE the Chillow. I’m pregnant and constantly hot at night… I got this in my 8th month but I wish I’d gotten it sooner!
  • My body radiates head when I go to bed. Thank goodness for the Chillow.
  • I’ve used the standard Chillow product consistently for the past several years, and I have found that I’m addicted to it.
  • AMAZING! Got it for my night sweats and hot flashes. It’s a dream come true.

If you are one of those folks who really has a tough time sleeping due to night sweats, keeping comfortable is important.  The Chillow Pillow does a nice job of keeping most people most comfortable.  Try it, and let me know what you think.
